Traditional foods and dress of India have changed over the past twenty years. Most of these changes were good.
The appearance and taste of India had become somewhat westernized but they still stay true to their history. Women’s
dress has greatly changed, instead of wearing the traditional Saree they now wear pants and shirts to work. At home or in
their free time they wear dresses. Men have also adapted to wearing pants and shirts, rather than Dhoti, Vesti, or Kurta.
However traditional clothing is still worn to special occasions such as weddings, funerals, or religious holidays. Although their
dress is still partly conservative there are visible changes in appearance. Other changes are also visible in foods; the Indian
population has also gotten accustomed to western foods such as pizza, chips, and egg rolls. The foods may have changed
but many Indians still like to add their traditional spices. For example some like pizza with original Indian spices on top. Same
as with the clothing, most Indians still eat traditional foods on special occasions. Even if the foods and clothing have changed
the tradition behind it is still the same and Indians continue honor it.
